Madison County Nature Trail Pictures

When I was growing up in Huntsville, my family would pick up a bucket of KFC after church and head up to the Madison County Nature Trail. (Back then we called it the Green Mountain Nature Trail.) We would have a picnic lunch and then play around on the trails, covered bridge, and feed the geese at the lake. While I was pregnant with my second baby I did my maternity pictures in front of the lake. Now, I take my children to the lake to turtle watch. This place holds a very special place in my heart, so, I was thrilled when this family wanted to document their special time in their lives with family pictures at the Madison County Nature Trail!

I am honored that I did their first photo shoot as a family of four. Their youngest recently turned one and was ready to do some walking!

I helped them pick out the perfect collection of portraits during their complimentary design consultation at their ordering appointment. They told me that they have files from every photo shoot they have done since their engagement, but they have few prints and wanted to start a gallery wall in their bedroom.

Galleries can be added onto each time you do a session, building the story of your family as you grow.

They chose the picture on the left because it embodies their oldest daughter’s sweet personality and the picture on the right because it captures their youngest daughter’s bold and lively personality. It’s common to put a family picture in the middle of a gallery wall, but I thought it was fitting that they chose a picture of just the two of them for the middle. It focuses on the beginning of their family’s story- when it was just the two of them.

My mission is to help you create something not only tangible for your home, but also deeply moving for you and for your children to love and adore as the years pass.

I plan to ensure that your printed portrait art does nothing but grow in sentimental value as your children grow, and as time rapidly rushes by.

I adore taking formal portraits, as well as photos of tender moments that capture the feeling of this moment in your life.

If you would regret not having photos to capture the stage your family is in right now, schedule your session today!

Some families don’t want to do Easter baskets on Easter to make sure that they don’t take away from the true meaning of Easter.

Personally, my family’s Easter tradition ensured I never had a problem with understanding what Easter was all about as a kid, while still enjoying my Easter basket on Easter morning.

Check out my blog to see all of the details! (You can click there from my story today.)

(Also, it includes how to get a cute Holy Week coloring book that we use with our kids.)

I hear it all the time. "I'm not sure I want to be in the photos."

You see the dark circles under your eyes.

You see the last 10 pounds of baby weight you've been meaning to lose.

You see your hair that won't do what you want it to, because you haven't had a haircut in months.

But here's a little secret:

That's not what your kids see.

They see the mom who gets them back to sleep night after night.

They see the mom who snuggles in bed with them when they have bad dreams.

They see familiar clothes that remind them of you.

They see the hair they play with when they can't fall asleep.

They see you, mom, in all your glory.

I know it's tempting to be the person behind the camera. (Hello, I am a photographer!)

But you have to be in front of it too. There are so many reasons why.

When you look back at this time in your life, you'll want to remember what you looked like.

(Trust me, you'll think you look amazing. Remember when you thought you weren't pretty enough in high school?)

When your kids look at the pictures from this time in their lives, they'll want to see you.

But on top of that, your kids are watching you. If you're hiding from the camera, they'll wonder why. And maybe even think they should hide, too.

It's time for us all to step in front of that camera and own our look.

P.S. Can you tell I've been busy planning a beach vacay & day dreaming about our previous beach trips? 🏝
